• Sadal Suud is named after the brightest star in Aquarius, Beta Aquarii. The traditional name "Sadalsuud", comes from an Arabic expression سعد السعود (sa‘d al-su‘ūd), the "luck of lucks", and is associated with spring and the burgeoning of new growth.
